About Us

Our Mission

Our Committment

Our Mission

The Healing Fields Foundation prepares professional emerging therapists and facilitators for clearly defined roles in clinical and immersive settings. We also help strengthen mission-driven organizations to build consistent, replicable programs that expand their capacity to serve.

What We Do

Our Committment

Our Mission

We offer individual and couples therapy, co-facilitation services and group workshops in California provided by supervised student-therapists. Through supervised field experience, practicum site partnerships, role-based training, organizational consulting, and we connect workforce development with responsible program growth.

Our Committment

Our Committment

Our Committment

Communities need more accessible mental health care, skilled professionals, and healing programs that can grow without losing quality or integrity. HFF helps build the people and structures needed to carry healing work forward. We are committed to human-centered care, practical training, clear professional roles, ethical safeguards, strong supervision, and sustainable partnerships.

Our Vision

Our Committment

Our Committment

By strengthening the relationship between mental health professionals and the diverse communities where people experience belonging, meaning, and transformation, The Healing Fields Foundation seeks to cultivate a broader ecosystem of care, one that honors both scientific understanding and the wisdom found within lived experience, community, nature, spirituality, and human connection.

Meet Our Founder

Christin Frederick, MA, LMFT

Founder and Executive Director

Christin Frederick is a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, educator, and mental health organizational consultant. Her career spans private practice, community mental health, domestic violence services, adult education, school leadership, business strategy, and leadership in the United States Marine Corps.

Christin founded Joya Sagrada Integrative Therapy after working with individuals, couples, and families in community-based clinical settings. Her experience in direct care, professional training, and organizational consulting shaped her interest in strengthening both the people who provide healing services and the systems that support their work.

The idea for the Healing Fields Foundation began when Christin observed the confidence, resilience, belonging, and personal growth young people experienced through a local surf program. She began exploring how therapists and graduate trainees might support similar community and immersive experiences. Over time, the idea evolved into a broader question: How can the conditions that support transformation be understood, taught, and responsibly reproduced?

This inquiry led Christin to develop the Healing Fields Model—a shared framework for understanding how relationships, environment, embodied experience, nervous-system regulation, and meaning work together to support change. She later expanded the model into role-based training that prepares co-facilitators to support immersive experiences with clear boundaries, ethical safeguards, and referral pathways.

Through HFF, Christin brings together clinical supervision, workforce development, organizational consulting, and program implementation. Her work prepares emerging therapists and facilitators for clearly defined roles while helping mission-driven organizations create consistent, teachable, and replicable programs that can grow without losing their integrity.

Savanna Briones, MA

Student Therapist

Savanna holds a master’s degree in Performance Psychology and is currently completing her Master of Social Work while working as a student therapist in clinical practice. Her approach to therapy is rooted in a simple belief: people usually make a lot more sense when we take the time to understand the whole picture.

She is especially interested in working with athletes, high performers, and people who are accustomed to being capable and pushing through, even when something beneath the surface isn’t working quite as well. Her approach brings together performance psychology, trauma-informed care, behavior change, self-awareness, and practical skill building. Rather than simply finding another way to push through a difficult pattern, Savanna is interested in understanding what is underneath it and why it continues to show up.

As a mom and everyday athlete herself, Savanna understands how easy it can be to become accustomed to simply carrying on and getting things done. She wants therapy to feel human, collaborative, and like a place where clients do not have to arrive with everything figured out. They simply have to show up as they are.
